History

Our law firm was founded on 1 September 1976, by Mischa Wladimiroff and Gerard Spong under the auspices of the Criminal Law Practice Foundation, established by the Dutch Bar Association to enhance the quality of criminal defence practice. The mission of this new law firm? To provide high-quality and specialised assistance in criminal cases and serve as a hallmark for criminal defence practice. The steady growth that followed was an indicator of the success of the new firm.

From the mid-1990s, Wladimiroff and his colleagues contributed to the development of international criminal law, which was taking shape for the first time since World War II.

Due to increased enforcement – stricter measures against criminal offences – the practice in corporate criminal law also experienced significant growth. The firm was strengthened with more partners and more specialisations in business crime.

Around 2005, the unique field of sanctions law emerged. This legal area encompasses various forms of regulatory action by the government, including penalties, criminal prosecution, administrative sanctions, and disciplinary measures.
Wladimiroff has extensive expertise in sanctions law. Clients of our firm benefit from a rich source of knowledge and experience.
