Robbert graduated with honours in Civil Law and Criminal Law from Leiden University, followed by postgraduate studies at Oxford (M.Jur, hons. Oxon). He also studied at Sciences Po (Paris) and at Harvard. As a lawyer, he inter alia successfully completed the Grotius Competition Law programme with honours.

Robbert is a versatile lawyer with extensive knowledge and experience. He focuses on a thorough understanding of the client and the case (factual, legal, and considering all other relevant aspects) to determine, in collaboration with the client, the most suitable approach. Direct and to the point where possible, cautious and circumspect when necessary. Always striving for solutions that yield the best result for the client, given the circumstances.

Robbert’s esteemed performance is recognised in guides such as Legal 500, Whoswholegal, Chambers and Partners. He is a member of the advisory committee on criminal law of the Netherlands Bar Association and various professional associations, particularly in the fields of cassation, competition, European law, and the environment.

Internationally, he is actively engaged in various forums, including the International Bar Association, the International Criminal Court Bar Association, and the Criminal Bar Association of England and Wales.
